Whenever I hear the pitter patter of tiny feet, I get all excited at the crafts that can be made to welcome the newest arrivals. I always try and make something original for each new baby.
When our friends welcomed a little boy in January, I wanted to make him something special to put in his nursery. Here is how I made this hanging quote sign which can be adapted for either a girl or a boy.
It’s super easy to make and the sparkly felt is really fun to work with, it comes in a variety of colours and can be brought from The Range stores in the UK.
What you will Need
Simply Creative Glitter Felt
Fiskars Hole Punch
Scissors & Hot Glue Gun
Hobbycraft Glitter Stickers
How to Make
Cut a piece of green glitter felt to roughly 20 x 40cms and cut the bottom end to a fishtail point.
Using the glitter alphabet stickers write the words Sweet Dreams on the glitter banner.
Cut out the name of the baby using a different colour felt. I decided not to cut the middle of the letters to give it a modern look. Glue the name down using the hot glue gun.
Using the white felt cut several clouds out, glue them down around the banner for some cute decoration. Other shapes like hearts and stars would also work well.
Punch a hole in both corners along the top of the banner and thread with twine, tie with a double knot.
It is always nice to receive a personalised gift and this banner would make a welcomed addition to the nursery of any new baby boy or girl. It’s the kind of gift that will grow with them through childhood.
