5 Easy Earrings Upcycled From Your Craft Stash

Are you looking for some fresh accessories for the new year? Why not check your existing craft stash to come up with something unique.

If you are anything like me you probably have tons of craft items hidden in your craft room that you may have forgotten about, why not take the time to unearth them and get creative by combining elements to DIY some jewellery. Here are 5 easy earring ideas, I created from my stash.

What You Will Need

  • Embellishments
  • Earring Fixings
  • Strong Glue

How to Make

The Vintage Button – This one is the super easy and doesn’t need a tutorial, just to say, it is 100% worth curating a vintage button collection. A simple button glued onto an earring stud creates a fantastic pair of earrings.

The Tassels – These golden faux leather tassels were originally from a scrapbook journal set and it just goes to show with a different perspective they can make some fab accessories.

Bow Down – I have had these bows for a while but never really knew what to do with them, they do however make really cool earrings. Simply glue the bow onto an earring stud, once dry use two heart gems glued in the centre of each bow, to contrast and finish the look.

Ribbon Glamour – These have to be my favourite makes on this post, again I have had these diamanté buckle embellishments for nearly 10 years. I cut 3 pieces of 1mm ribbon, folded and glued them over the central bar of the diamanté buckle and popped an earring stud on the back. Trim the ends of the ribbons to points.

Floral Pom Poms – These gold metallic pom poms are really cool, but I haven’t really known what to do with them. I threaded three pom poms together and then topped it with a bright paper flower which I also sewed through the middle before tying onto a dangling earring fixture. A fun and different earring to add to your collection.

It is amazing what you can come up with if you dip into your existing craft stash & mix and match your supplies. Have fun with those pieces you have had lying around forever by looking at them with fresh eyes.

If you were wondering, I purchased my earring blanks from Amazon, you get big boxes of fixtures at a really good price and these have lasted me for ages.
