Autumn nights are setting in and its time to get all cosy, now is the time all our favourite comfort foods can be cooked and shared with our loved ones. This crumble recipe is a firm favourite in our house for a Sunday treat.
What you will Need
2 Medium bramley apples
200g Blackberries
Lemon juice
110g Chilled butter
110g Golden caster sugar
170g Plain flour
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
2 tbsp of oats
How to Make
1.Pre heat the oven to gas mark 5/fan 170
2. Peel and core your apples and slice into 1cm wedges, layer into the bottom of a 20cm baking dish, squeeze over the juice of a lemon to add favour and stop the apples from browning.
3. Add the blackberries on top and put to one side.
4. Put the flour, sugar, butter and cinnamon into a mixing bowl and rub together to create a breadcrumb like texture.
5. Spoon the crumble mixture on top of the fruit and sprinkle the oats on top with a little extra sugar.
6.Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, until lovely and golden. Serve with custard, cream or ice-cream it’s your choice.
