I have been having a play around with dried flowers recently, when I saw that my beautiful violas were starting to fade, I started to think how I could use them in a crafty way.
What you will Need
Flowers
Baking paper
A heavy book
A card blank
Black fine-liner
Stamp, embossing ink and black embossing powder
How to Make
Pick your flowers off the plant, and dry them with kitchen towel. Cut two sheets of baking paper to fit inside your book.
Lay the flowers on top of the baking paper and carefully cover with the other sheet, ensure the flowers are as flat as possible as this is how they will dry, close the book and leave for a couple of weeks to dry.
When you open your book you should have some beautiful dried flowers, now to make your card.
Take a card blank and draw a free-hand border with a black pen.
Stamp your sentiment, I chose to emboss the word congratulations in black. I’m still learning to emboss so it did come out a bit messy but I quite like the slight splatter effect.
Place your flowers on the card and then with the black pen, draw the flower stems and leaves as shown.
Glue down your flowers with a small dab of glue, I used Dovecraft Ultimate Glue as it is acid free so won’t damage the delicate petals.
This card is so pretty and it’s a great way to preserve your flowers. Let me know if you make it, I would love to see! Use @i_heart_maggie for Instagram or @IHeart_Maggie on Twitter.
