Exciting news, the Christmas tree is up! I know lot’s of people put their tree up in November but I prefer to wait until December before getting all the decorations up. My tree is mainly red, white and crystal and I love collecting new decorations each year.
I love introducing handmade creations into my Christmas decor and today I am sharing a tutorial on how to make your own tree decorations.
What you will Need
White air dry clay
Simply Creative adhesive gems
Cookie cutters
How to Make
Take some clay and warm it up by kneading it in your hands, roll it out until it is the thickness of a pound coin.
Use your hand to rub over the surface so its nice and smooth then use your favourite cookie cutters to cut out your shapes.
Pop the design out of the cutter and gently smooth down the rough edges by running your finger around the shape. Use a cocktail stick to make a hole to thread some twine.
Decorate your handmade baubles with a selection of sparkly gems, you an have fun creating a number of different designs.
Leave your decorations to dry, I kept mine in a cardboard for a few days, use some festive twine to hang your baubles and then display them proudly on your tree.
I would love to see your versions of my handmade Christmas decorations on social media, you can tag @i_heart_maggie on Instagram or @IHeart_Maggie on twitter.
